Sigiriana is more than an idyllic retreat. With a diverse range of activities at hand, from exploring Sigiriana's plantations to unwinding at the pool or playing some sports to help you relax.
Outside of Sigiriana, the countryside's lush forests and wetlands await you to unravel their secrets. The variety is sure to keep you entertained throughout your stay with us. If you have any additional requests outside of our standard activities, we would be delighted to be of service.
Plantation Tour
The plantations at Sigiriana consist of papaya, cashew, coconut, pineapple and banana along with mango orchards. The resort plantations provide the fresh fruit that we use in Sigiriana. Throughout the tour, you will be guided by our resident naturalist, experienced in the flora and fauna within Sigiriana. We pride ourselves on our sustainability and the tour showcases the seed to plate component of our dining.
Cricket Grounds
Cricket arrived with the British during the colonial days, and has been formally played in Sri Lanka since 1832. Since then cricket has become the most popular sport in the island. Our cricket ground lies at the edge of the resort bordering the pineapple plantation. It is a clay ground as it is usually played locally. All equipment is available upon request.
Swimming Pool
Just a few steps away from our bar, the pool is excellent to unwind with a drink in hand after a tiring day. Soak up the sun along with a snack from the bar and appreciate the tranquility of the surroundings.
Volleyball
Looking out into the paddy field, our volley court is converted from the tennis court upon request. The swimming pool and spa are just steps away for after your game. All equipment is available at the resort upon request.
Tennis Court
The tennis court at Sigiriana resort borders the swimming pool and is a doubles clay court. It is fully equipped and open for our guests to use at their convenience.
Nature Walk
Small lakes and forests dot the countryside around Sigiriana. Our guides will take you on a tour of the local flora and fauna. You will see numerous bird species and exotic wildlife such as peacocks.
